PERIODONTOLOGY- GUM DISEASES

It is the dentistry branch dealing with inflammational diseases of the soft and hard tissues surrounding teeth and their treatment. The basic reason of gum disease is a adsorbate, sticky transparent layer called bacterial plaque. In order to remove the plaque and tartar causing gum diseases tartar cleaning and curettage operations are performed.
Gum bleeding is a sign of gum inflammation. Preventing gum bleeding is possible by tartar cleaning and with a good mouth care. In the future periods of gum inflammation the disease on the periodontal tissues connecting the tooth to jaw can cause the swinging and loss of tooth.

On the problem of gum disease first the tartar shall be cleaned and regular dentist controls shall be performed.
